So every so often there comes along a great singer that invades my mind,body and soul. The newest incarnation of this spirit is Adele Atkins. She is known as Adele, has one two grammy awards for best new artist and also best pop vocal. I don't know how to explain how touches me deep in my soul. Do you know when a singers expresses themselves with their hands when they sing? I can feel the music when I see her sing live. I know that she is a young soul with influences of the great female singer's of our time, although she stands out all on her own. She has for the time being, became my default Sunday morning soul music. No one female singer has made an impact on me more than Norah Jones did when Come Away With Me debut almost a decade ago.
19 is the name of her first album that won so many awards world wide. She writes most of her music, although does great covers of some of our greatest songs in history. Look for Crazy for You, My Same, Right as Rain. There is a new album coming out in January of 2011 featuring some Country music. I am not the biggest country music fan, but I am excited to hear her new music.

ReplyDeleteThe only Adele song I've heard is Chasing Pavements (listening to it now, actually). I love that song, but somehow never got around to checking out her other stuff. The musical scene sometimes seems to be sorely lacking in talent. Glad to hear (or read) that there are some hopeful prospects out there. I'll definitely check her out :)
